Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 7:30 am–6:30 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (404) 531-2003. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is sandyspringsdentist.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

I relocated to Atlanta a year ago and have been a patient at Hammond dental since then. The staff is always friendly, takes time to walk you through the information, and makes you feel valued as a patient. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a dentist.

UPDATED REVIEW: I had to go back in concerning the filling that I previously got, due to it needing to be filed down more because of my bite. I went in and it was filed down, then shortly after leaving from this procedure, the filling came out. I had not eaten anything that day at all, so I feel like it's because it was filed down too much. I called in and explained what happened, they advised for me to come back in at 3:00. It was explained that the fillings are temporary. I explained that I was told that it should at least last a year. If I had known that it was going to be that temporary ( a few weeks), I would have not wasted my time nor money to get that service done. So, they went over my next options, which was for a crown. In the consultation, I was advised that eventually both top teeth will need a crown. I concurred with their findings, and advised that after they presented my figures with insurance, that i will get the crown on the broke tooth done first and then work towards getting the other tooth done at a later date, due to me currently being out of work and I am on a strict budget. They drew up the documents for the 1 tooth, and I signed and I paid what n

I was looking for a new dental office and found Hammond Dental based on its good reviews. Overall, I have mixed feelings about my experience there. I only needed a routine cleaning, which is about as basic as it gets. When I called to make the appointment, the receptionist mentioned that I might have to come back another day because they first needed to β€œdiagnose” before deciding if they could do the cleaning the same day. That was my first red flag. The actual cleaning and X-rays were fine, and I have no complaints about the quality of the work hence the four stars. However, after the exam they recommended a β€œsemi-deep cleaning” because they said I had mild gum disease. This is where I started feeling like they might be trying to upsell additional services. Looking back, the way the appointment was explained over the phone already hinted at that possibility. To support their recommendation, they showed me paperwork explaining that they follow national dental association guidelines. While I understand they were probably trying to reassure me, it came across more like they were trying to justify the extra procedure. Since they said the gum disease was mild, I decided to go ahead w

I can’t say enough good things about Hammond Dental Clinic. From check-in to leaving, everyone was friendly and professional. Nathan stood out β€” he’s super nice, totally non-judgmental (I’m very self conscious about my teeth), and really caring. He explained what he was doing, made me feel comfortable, and did an awesome job. I’d recommend Hammond to anyone looking for a dental practice.

I had a terrible experience. I am sharing my experience to make others aware of the retaliation mindset the staff has. I made an appointment over a month ago. The day of the appointment a scheduler calls me 1 hour and advise the dentist reviewed my charts and recommends a full exam. I agreed. Not long after I pulled into the parking lot the scheduler calls me back and cancel my appointment. Her first words,” the dentist reviewed your charts”. The dentist had over a month and a few hours before hand to look at my chart. This office waited until I arrived to cancel my appointment. They didn’t care about my career and the fact that I had to request time off work to be there. That is a retaliation mindset. Furthermore, they claim they said I would sue when I had an appointment in 2025. They no proof of me saying this. I never said I would sue. Dentist come a dime a dozen. I have options to go anywhere I please. If I felt mistreated I would have never scheduled a new appointment. I believe they got me mixed up with a different patient and retaliated against me. In 2025, I had an emergency appointment after two extractions that Dr. Norris performed. I developed an infection and I was in
